Description

The Regional Library, located at No 25 on Bilton Lane, is a mid-19th century building that was formerly the Old Vicarage. Designed in a modified Gothic style, it features two storeys and an irregular facade with gables. The roof is covered with green slate and has coped gables. The exterior is made of coursed, squared grit stone rubble.

On the first floor, there are arched windows with two lights and quatrefoil tracery. The ground floor includes two and three-light windows with attached columns to the mullions, as well as a splayed bay window on the west side. A projecting portico enhances the entrance, which is adorned with stylised foliage bracketing the parapet, an arched doorway with a fanlight, and a panelled door.
