Description
Hall Gates Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house constructed from coursed gritstone rubble, which has been whitewashed. It features 20th-century pantile roofs, with the lower bays having stone slate lower courses. The building is two stories high and has a two-bay main block, flanked by single-storey bays that are set back. It has quoins and a central 20th-century glazed door within a quoined surround. The farmhouse has 3-light windows throughout, set in moulded stone architraves, with 20th-century wooden frames replacing the original stone mullions; the ground-floor windows are deeper than those above. The structure includes flat-faced kneelers, gable copings, and end stacks. The left bay features a glazed door in a stone surround, while the right bay has a glazed door to the left and a square 2-light window with a wooden lintel and 20th-century frame to the right.
