EBBERSTON A 170 (north side, off) Wall of cascade approximately 100 metres north of Ebberston Hall

GV II*

Middle cascade of water garden. c1718. For William Thompson, MP for Scarborough. Dressed limestone. Stepped wall approximately 1.25 metres high and 10 metres wide forming a dam to the canal behind it. Channelled at each end. C Hussey, English Gardens and Landscapes, 1700-1750, 1967; J Harris, Artist and the Country House, 1979. Ebberston Hall gardens are listed grade II* in the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.
