Description
60 Frenchgate is a building from the 18th century that was remodeled in the 19th century. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features three short brick chimney stacks. The ground and first floor windows are 19th-century canted bays with three lights each, separated by paneling between the storeys. These windows have a reeded frieze and a dentil cornice, with rendered risers. The two upper windows are set in stone surrounds. The central door is recessed and has six fielded panels, framed by a moulded stone case with shaped jambs and shoulders, along with a small shaped and reeded frieze and dentil cornice. To the left of the main entrance, there is a passage door with a round-arched entrance that features a stone keystone. Nos 58 and 60 form a group.
