Description

A terrace of seven houses, now flats, was built around 1840 in Filey. The buildings are brick with a stucco finish, topped by a slate roof. They stand three storeys high, with a basement and attic. The ground floor is rusticated, and each house originally had three bays, with the end bays projecting outwards. Each house features a Doric porch with fluted columns, housing a four-panel door with an overlight, accessed by cantilevered steps. The windows were originally sash windows, although some have been altered. A continuous wrought iron balcony, supported by iron brackets, runs along the first floor. A continuous sill band is present at the second floor level. The building has a moulded eaves cornice, and the attic has 20th-century dormer windows. The return frontages have paired Doric porches on the left and a single porch on the right.
