Description

This is a barn, reputedly a former tithe barn, dating from around 1600. It has been divided into two barns and altered in the 20th century. The barn is constructed of squared rubble stone with stone dressings, and has a corrugated iron roof. It comprises 11 bays. The central waggon entrance has a chamfered surround and plank doors. A blocked entrance to the left has a chamfered surround and a Tudor arch. To the left of this is a shippon with a chamfered entrance and three 20th-century openings. To the right are two chamfered entrances and seven small ventilation openings. The return side on the right contains seven rows of chamfered ventilation openings, amounting to a total of 42. The interior was originally aisled, and while the padstones remain, the original timbers were destroyed by fire in 1959 and replaced with a King post roof structure in around 1960.
