Description

This building, originally a house, now comprises two flats and a hairdresser's salon. It dates from the early 18th century, with later alterations. The exterior is constructed of reddish-brown local brick, with a plinth on the east side and stepped eaves. It features a steep pantile roof. The building has two storeys. A gabled section was added to the rear in the 20th century, along with two further 20th-century gables providing entrances. There are three bays in total; the right-hand bay now has a 20th-century shop front. The main entrance is accessed through a six-panel door with a radial fanlight, set within a wooden doorcase featuring reeded engaged columns and an open pediment, dating to around 1800. Two segmental arched sixteen-pane sash windows are visible on the first floor, set within flush wood architraves. More modern casement windows are positioned above. An early 18th-century tall, narrow segmental arched window with later glazing is found in the gable end.
