Description

The Saxon Cross is a village cross located on the north side of Main Street in Follifoot. It dates back to the 9th century and was restored in the 19th century. The cross is made from local gritstone and features a tall columnar design set on three square stone steps. It has a moulded circular base with a triple swagged motif above it. The plain shaft rises to a square top that is capped with a similar moulded design. At the top of the restored cross, there is a small figure depicting the crucifixion.
