A pair of town houses. 1826. Brick with a slate roof, and a central ridge stack. Bracketed eaves cornice. 3 storey with basement. 4 bay. South front has 2 glazing bar sashes at basement level, with 2 similar windows above, flanked on either side by doors reached by flights of seven stone steps. The doors are 6 panel with overlights and moulded stucco surrounds with patera. Above, 4 glazing bar sashes, and above again 4 similar sashes. All the windows have painted lintels. Interior of No 5 has contemporary staircase, single flight return with turned balusters, most of its original doors and doorcases, with similar window surrounds and shutters. 2 finely detailed round-headed alcoves in the dining room. Some original fireplaces, some original plaster ceilings and also original cupboards also survive.
