Description
A terrace of eight houses, now flats, built in 1847 in Filey. The buildings are constructed of brick, with stucco and colour-washed detailing, and have a slate roof. The terrace is three storeys high with a basement and attic. The ground floor is rusticated, with quoins at the left-hand end. Each house originally had two bays, including a full-height, three-window bow. Pairs of houses are separated by giant pilasters. Recessed entrances feature six-panel doors with overlights, accessed by cantilevered staircases. The windows are predominantly sash windows with glazing bars. A string course runs along the first floor, and a continuous sill band is present. A moulded eaves course tops the building. Dormers have been added to the attics in the 20th century. The rear windows have gauged brick wedge lintels.
