Description

Brook Villa is a house dating to around 1840. It is constructed primarily of hammered sandstone to the front, with sandstone rubble to the sides and rear. The corners are defined by herringbone-tooled quoins, and the roof is slate, with brick stacks. The house is arranged with a central stairhall plan, having two rooms deep. The two-storey, three-bay front has a recessed central bay with a segmental arch at the eaves. A central four-panel door is set beneath a plain fanlight and rounded arch. Above the door, a radial-glazed sash window sits under a rounded arch, set above a blind balustrade. Sixteen-pane sashes are found throughout, with bracketed sills and heavy plain lintels. The end stacks rise through a hipped roof.
