Description

19 York Place is an early 19th-century building that shares a design with numbers 11 to 18 on York Place, forming the terrace’s end. The building is three storeys high with a basement, constructed of vitreous brick, and features painted window surrounds and a painted moulded cornice. It has two windows, including a prominent fall-height segmental bow window with tripartite glazing bar sashes. The entrance is via a six-panel door within a Greek Doric doorcase. Steps with railings lead to the front door.

The south-facing return front has three windows with later glazing in sash windows, with the cornice returning to the hipped slate roof. Two canted bay windows are present on the ground floor. A central glazed door sits within a Greek Doric porch, featuring two columns to the front and pilasters to the wall.

Numbers 5 to 19 York Place constitute a notable architectural group.
