Description

This canal, located approximately 200 metres north-east of Settrington House, dates from around 1700 and is likely part of a former water garden. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features walls that are about 0.5 metres high, creating a canal that measures approximately 80 metres long and 10 metres wide. This structure is believed to be the only surviving remnant of the water garden that was associated with the earlier house on the site.
