Description
The garden pavilion and attached northern wall at Broughton Hall were built in 1855 by Andrews and Delaunay. The structure features rock-faced stone and ashlar, topped with a lead roof. The pavilion is adorned with clasping Doric pilasters and a modillion cornice. Each side of the pavilion has a round-headed arch with a moulded archivolt. The low pyramidal roof is finished with an iron finial and antefixae. The spandrels display the monogram CRT, representing Sir Charles R Tempest. This pavilion is part of a picturesque ensemble at Broughton Hall, which includes less elaborate retaining walls and the terrace wall to the north of the Hall.
