Description
Wood Cottage is a house dated 1739, constructed from coursed rubble with a pantile roof that has stone slates at the eaves. The building is two storeys high and features two first-floor windows, along with a rear wing. It has quoins and a central four-panel door set in a slightly-chamfered quoined surround, with the inscription "17 IL 39" on the lintel. The side-sliding sash windows are positioned below flat arches made of rubble voussoirs. The cottage has shaped kneelers and ashlar copings, with end stacks, one of which is made of brick and located to the left. The cottage is named after the Wood family, who were long-term tenants.
