Description

East End Manor is a house dated 1625 with 19th century additions, restored after 1972. It is built from coursed squared gritstone and has a graduated stone slate roof. The house is two storeys high with three bays and a rear outshut, plus a later bay added to the left. The porch bay is three storeys tall. The porch features a board door in a chamfered quoined surround, topped by a shallow triangular-headed arch with a lintel inscribed "RA:1625" and a hoodmould.

The windows are recessed and have chamfered mullions throughout. The porch has two small single-light windows, with a hoodmould over the lower window and a moulded stone projection set in a round-arched recess between them. The second and third bays have six-light and four-light windows on the ground floor, the larger window featuring a central king mullion, with five-light and four-light windows above. There is a continuous dripmould over the ground-floor windows, bulbous kneelers, and gable copings on both the house and the porch, along with massive end external stacks. The 19th century bay to the left also has mullioned windows.

The interior was not inspected during the resurvey but was recorded before restoration. It features two arcade posts between the house and the rear outshut, along with traces of stud partition walls. The two main living rooms have original arched fireplaces, and each end of a massive chamfered spine beam rests above them.
