Description

Whistle House and an attached barn date from the middle to late 18th century. The house is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a graduated stone slate roof. It is a two-storey, two-bay building with a five-bay barn attached to the left. The house features quoins. A central stone porch has been added, containing a four-panel door. Flanking the porch are three-light, flat-faced mullion windows on both the ground and first floors. Banded ridge stacks are located centrally and to the right. The interior of the house has not been inspected. The barn has a central double board door leading to a recessed cart entrance, set below a deep eaves line. There are projecting two-bay sections on either side, with a byre entrance to the far left and a square window with a wooden lintel towards the centre. The interior of the main barn contains four queen-strut trusses.
