Description
North Grimston House is a house built in the late 18th century, with an additional front range from the early 19th century. It features a limestone rubble exterior brought to course and a Westmorland slate roof. The central entry front range connects to the rear range via a short passage. The house is two storeys high with three bays. It has a half-glazed door set within a late 19th-century Tuscan porch. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, all beneath flat stone arches and equipped with louvered shutters. The roof is hipped with ridge stacks.
Inside, there is an original studded board front door with a decorative overlight in the front wall. The interior also includes a French marble fireplace with a mantelpiece supported by tapering columns, two fluted arches leading to the landing, and a pendant cornice on the landing ceiling.
