Description
West Flatts Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed limestone and features a roof made of Welsh slate and pantiles. The farmhouse has a central-entry plan, with a service wing to the right and a cross wing at the rear left. It stands two storeys high and has three bays in the main house, while the service wing is lower and has two bays.
The main range includes a six-fielded-panel door situated beneath a divided overlight, with 16-pane sash windows beneath wedge lintels throughout. The building has gable coping, shaped kneelers, and end stacks. The service wing features an off-centre board door, with an unequal six-pane sash window to the left and a tripartite sash window to the right. On the first floor, there is another unequal six-pane sash window, with wedge lintels throughout and gable coping on the right end stack. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
