Description
The White House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-18th century, with a 20th-century extension to the left and refurbishment completed in 1987. It is constructed from sandstone rubble, which was formerly whitewashed, and has a 20th-century pantile roof. The building has two storeys and a loft, featuring three bays, with a two-storey, two-bay addition on the left. The main house has a central part-glazed door and 20th-century 16-pane sash windows with exposed sash boxes and flat arches. The roof displays shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, along with two 20th-century dormer windows and brick end stacks.
At the rear, the house is whitewashed and has 16-pane sash windows in two bays flanking a central staircase window. The right return shows a gable made of brick.
Inside, on the ground floor to the left, there is an inglenook fireplace with a 18th-century cast-iron grate. The 18th-century turned baluster closed string dogleg staircase continues up to the loft.
