Description

This is an early 18th-century farmhouse, with an attached outbuilding, that was raised and refenestrated in the 19th century. The building is constructed of dressed sandstone, with a pantile roof and partly rebuilt brick stacks. Originally designed with a three-cell layout, including a hearth passage, it now presents as a two-storey, two-window-wide section on the right, and a lower, one- or two-storey, one-window-wide section on the left, incorporating the outbuilding. A part-glazed four-panel door is located in the lower section, alongside a single-light casement window; a larger two-light horizontal-sliding sash window sits above the casement. All openings have painted timber lintels. A central chimney stack is visible. The windows in the higher section are two-light, large-pane horizontal-sliding sashes, with painted stone sills and lintels. End chimney stacks are also present. On the left return, a plank stable door is beneath a timber lintel, with a blocked lifting door above. The end of the outbuilding features raised ridge stones.
