Description
57, 59, and 61 Kirkgate are two houses that have been converted into three, dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are built of coursed squared limestone and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings are three storeys high and have two first-floor windows. The entrance to number 57 is located at the rear of number 59, accessed through a six-panel door set in a wooden architrave with a wedge lintel. Numbers 59 and 61 have modern glazed doors in stone architraves that include consoles and cornices. Throughout the buildings, there are 16-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves with projecting sills and wedge lintels. Above each door, there are blind windows on the first and second floors. The chimney stacks are positioned on the ridge at the right end and above the door to number 59, with the left stack made of brick and the right stack rendered.
