Description
No. 2 Main Street is a house and shop dating from the mid to late 18th century. The building features reddish-brown local brick on its gable and rear walls, which are adorned with dentilled eaves at the back. The front is rendered and includes a plinth and a band at the first floor. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has chimneys at both ends and along the ridge. The structure is two storeys tall and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a panelled door set within a late 19th-century wooden doorcase that includes brackets. To the left of the entrance is a late glazed window in its original opening, while to the right is a 16-pane sash window. Above the entrance, there is a round-arched blind panel with lettering, flanked by sash windows that have glazing bars. The building is included partly for its group value.
