Description
Wharram Percy House is a house built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of brick in English bond and has a Welsh slate roof. The house features a central hallway entry and is two storeys tall with five bays arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern, separated by flat buttresses with recessed bands. The entrance includes a six-panel double door with a fanlight, set within a round-headed porch, and is flanked by sash windows with glazing bars. The outer bays contain tripartite sashes with triglyphs on the dividing jambs. There is a first-floor band across the central bays, and the first floor also has sash windows with glazing bars. Flat brick arches are present throughout the building. The wide eaves and overhanging hipped roof have stacks that break through the pitch of the roof. Inside, the main reception rooms feature egg and dart and floral cornices, and there is an original close-string straight staircase. Square-section columns with simple capitals create a gallery at the landing level.
