Description
This is a pair of gate piers located in a boundary wall, approximately 3 metres south of the church gateway in Kirk Deighton. They date from the mid-18th century and are made of ashlar stone, standing about 2.0 metres high. The piers are rusticated and feature a lightly moulded entablature with pyramidal caps. There is a 20th-century gate present, which is not considered of special interest. These gate piers provided access from the Rectory, now known as Kirk Deighton Hall, to the village main street and the pathway leading to the church. They are included in the listing for their group value.
