Description
Number 63 is a house located on the north side of High Street in Great Ayton, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared tooled sandstone and features a graduated slate roof with stone elements. The building stands two storeys high and has two wide windows. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set beneath a lintel with a large keystone. The windows, which are later 19th-century sashes and casements, are placed in plain reveals and also feature similar keystones and projecting sills. The roof is adorned with copings and kneelers, and has corniced end chimneys. In front of the house, there is a low stone area wall and four central steps that are complemented by wrought iron handrails.
