Description
Gruskholme is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of lime-washed squared rubble with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof.
The entrance on the left side is from the 20th century and includes a door from around 1965. On the right side of the ground floor, there was originally a 3-light flat-faced mullioned window, which has been altered to a 2-light window around 1965 using 18th-century stone, complete with a dripstone above. On the upper floor, there is a former 2-light window on the left that has been heightened, although the mullion is now missing; it has 20th-century casements. To the right, there is a 2-light double chamfered mullioned window, also with 20th-century casements. The building features two rows of throughs and has a left-hand gable end ridge stack, as well as a right-hand ridge stack at the junction with the former shippon. Gruskholme is included for its group value.
