Description

Gruskham is an early to mid-18th century farmhouse, with earlier origins dating to the 17th century, and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of slobbered coursed rubble, with a stone slate roof. The front elevation was significantly altered in the 20th century. The rear has two storeys and two bays. The left-hand bay features three-light chamfered mullioned windows on each floor, with dripstones above. The right-hand bay has two former two-light chamfered windows to both floors, though the mullions have been removed and replaced with 20th-century casements. A dripstone above the ground floor window extends to the left. Gable end ridge stacks are visible.

Inside, an early to mid-18th century fireplace has a moulded surround and a moulded cornice above a heavy lintel. A panel door leads to the staircase. An upper floor bedroom retains a plank door with HL hinges. To the right of the house, a former barn has a tie beam inscribed ‘C/ES/1743.’
