Description
Hillside is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is built of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of two bays and is two rooms deep. It has quoins at the corners and a central door framed by a sawn stone surround with long and short quoins. On either side of the door are 6-pane side-sliding sash windows, also in stone surrounds. The house has shaped kneelers, gable coping, and end stacks. There is a lean-to outbuilding attached to the left side of the house. At the rear, there is a possible rear entrance that has been blocked by rubble walling, along with a tall narrow window with a transom on the left and a cross window on the right, both in stone surrounds. The interior has not been inspected.
