Description
The Crescent numbers 15-21 comprise a terrace of seven dwellings, later converted into apartments. The buildings date from the mid-19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of brick, with stucco and rendered finishes, and have a slate roof. The terrace is four storeys high, with a basement and attic, and features twelve bays. Five original round-headed entrances are present; two have been altered into windows, and these are located on the left side of the rusticated ground floor, alongside tripartite sash windows. The remaining windows are sashes, arranged in groups of three within the end bays. The first floor windows are set within eared and shouldered architraves with keyed segment heads, while the end bays have a cornice and segmental pediment. The third and fourth floor windows have eared architraves, with the third floor end bays featuring a bracketed cornice. Moulded decorative bands are present at the first and fourth levels, with a console eaves cornice running along the top. Dormers have been added to the attic. The right return front features four-storey bow windows flanking a central bay which contains a ground floor entrance and a single window. The fenestration and architectural details of the main front are repeated on this return front.
