Description
This is a boundary stone located approximately 500 meters south-south-west of Townend Farm, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is made of dressed limestone and stands upright with a flat top. The stone features deep chamfers with pyramid stops at the front corners. It is painted black and white, with black sans-serif lettering diagonally on each chamfer indicating "FARLETON" to the north and "HOLME" to the south. (Farleton Parish is now part of Beetham.) There is a bench mark on the base. This stone is similar to a series of milestones and boundary stones that were previously listed in neighboring parishes.
