Description

Kirstead is a house located on Aynsome Road in Lower Allithwaite, Cartmel. It is probably from the 17th century, with the roof raised in the 18th century. The exterior is roughcast with a slate roof, and the building has two storeys and two bays. The ground floor features three-light casement windows, while the first floor has sashed windows with single thick glazing bars. The central entrance includes a glazed door and a gabled canopy. There are gable-end stacks, and the right side of the house has a small projection, likely for an oven. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a stack. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is believed to have plank and muntin partitioning.
