Description

This is a pair of lamp standards dating from the late 19th century, made of cast iron. They are located at the edge of the pavement opposite the main entrance to the Hotel Imperial in Barrow in Furness. Each lamp standard features moulded bases with an illegible foundry name and various annulets. The columns are plain, topped with stiff-leaf capitals, and transition to a square section adorned with decorative bosses. The right post has a complete lantern with a finial, while the left post has an incomplete lantern. These lamp standards are included for their group value with the hotel.
