Description

This lime kiln, likely built in the late 18th century, is located in Barrow in Furness. It is constructed from massive rubble limestone and is built into a bank, featuring splayed side walls. The kiln has large quoins and a mouth set in a concave recess beneath a round arch. The walls are battered with a ragged top, and there is a choked charging hole. Attached allotment buildings are present but are not of special interest.
