Description
Old Manor House, dating from around 1700 and incorporating older work, is a two-storey building located on the north side of Mill Brow. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with gable chimneys. The facade is symmetrical with five bays, showcasing windows that have unmoulded mullion transoms and surrounds, as well as casements with all glazing bars. The doorway is framed by a shouldered architrave and a triple keystone, which supports a broken segmental pediment above an empty recess. The right gable end includes one transomed window, while the rear displays quoins, a three-light mullioned window, and traces of another now blocked window, along with two similar windows at the front.
Inside, there is a four-light closed string dogleg stair with square newels and turned balusters, although the balusters are missing from the bottom flight. The kitchen contains the remains of a large corbelled chimneypiece. In the front room on the left side, there is an elaborate fitted cupboard to the left of a modern fireplace, featuring a roundhead, keystone, and a two-leaved door with ornamental raised and fielded panels.
