Description
The Clock Tower, built in 1912, is located on Main Street in Grange-over-Sands. It is constructed of snecked limestone with red sandstone ashlar dressings and features an eight-sided slate roof. The tower has a square plan and is supported by tapering diagonal buttresses that rise above the eaves, each carved with a reversed 'S'. Each side of the tower includes a tall glazed slit opening above a string course, along with a clock face framed in ashlar. Below the overhanging eaves, there is a three-light mullioned opening on each face. On the west side at ground level, there is a moulded doorway, and above it, a plaque reads: 'AMORIS DONUM 1912'.
