Description

The grooms' quarters, located to the south-east of Newbiggin Hall, date from the late 18th century and are part of a group of farm buildings. The structure is built from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof that is hipped to the west, topped with a brick chimney at the east end.

The north elevation is symmetrical, comprising two stories and five bays. It has a central panelled door flanked by casement windows with glazing bars, while five smaller unglazed windows are positioned above. All windows are framed with stone surrounds. There is a ground floor door and a first floor door that leads up steps to the rear. Additionally, 20th-century garage doors have been inserted into the west end of the building.
