Description
The building is a combined hen-house and pigsty located to the west of Newbiggin Hall, dated 1796 according to the Hall's accounts. It is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and features a graduated slate roof. The earth closet door is set back to the left, while the hen-house door is flanked by two small openings with ledges positioned 3 feet above the ground. There are three additional doors leading to store areas and pigsties. Inside the hen-house, the original stone nesting boxes have been preserved. All doors are made of planks and have segmental heads.
