Description

These barns, dating from the early 19th century, are located adjacent to Ellerton Grange. They are constructed from a mix of sandstone and split cobble rubble, featuring flush quoins and topped with a roof of sandstone slate and greenslate. The barns are long and two stories high, arranged in an L-shape. Each barn has doorways with plank doors on the right and left, set within segmental arches. There are irregular loft doorways and window openings. The rear of the left barn includes a gingang, with its side openings partly filled with breeze blocks. The barns have group value with Ellerton Grange.
