Description
Katharine Well is a well head and drinking troughs dated 1866, inscribed with the name "KATHARINE WELL." It is constructed from dressed red sandstone. The structure features a central round arch over the spring, flanked by two lower round arches that open into troughs set into the ground. Above this, there is an upper arcade of tall round-headed arches. A central inscription on greenslate reads, "THIS WELL WAS BUILT IN MEMORY OF KATHARINE LOSH OF WOODSIDE, WREAY, FOR THE WATERING OF HORSES WHICH USED THE ROAD," and it was restored by members of the parish in 1970.
