Description

This is a late 18th-century dovecote situated north-east of The Manor, formerly recorded as being north-east of Barrock Park. The dovecote is constructed of rendered rubble with a coved stone cornice, and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof featuring lead ridges. A small, arcaded wooden drum and ogee lead cupola rise from the roof, surmounted by a fox vane. The dovecote is octagonal, featuring plank doors set in alternate-block surrounds, and fixed windows with glazing bars within raised stone surrounds. Inside, the walls are lined with stone shelves and nesting boxes, and a platform is present, but there is no potence.
