Description
The Church of All Saints, built in 1867, is a church made of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and slate roofs. It features a nave, a north vestry, and a chancel apse. The building has a weathered base, cast iron gutters, and coped gables. There is a sill course on the west, south, and east sides. The round-headed windows have paired reveals. The west end includes two windows flanking a weathered buttress and a gabled bellcote with a round opening on the sill course and an iron cross on the gable. The south gabled porch has a double-chamfered round-arched door with a hood that has stops. The gabled vestry features a tall gable-end stack and a round-headed window. The east end has a gable cross and an apse with a cornice and three windows. Cast iron rainwater heads are present.
Inside, the nave has deep arch-braced collar trusses supporting the roof. There is a plain octagonal font, believed to be from around 1686 and originally from the Kirkby Lonsdale parish church. The church also contains painted commandment boards. The apse arch features stop-chamfered jambs, imposts, and a single chamfered arch, along with a rood beam and rood. The apse is decorated with stencilling and has two stained glass windows, as well as ashlared collar trusses.
