Description

Clark's Farm and Stables is a farmhouse and stables built in the early 18th century, with a stable extension that is dated and inscribed "J & EB, MDCC XXIX" on a reused lintel. The building is constructed from dressed red sandstone rubble, featuring V-jointed quoins and an eaves cornice set on a chamfered plinth. It has a roof made of Welsh slate and greenslate, with coped gables and kneelers, along with rendered stone chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a left extension and a right single-bay stable, all covered by a common roof. The windows are sash style, set in 19th-century stone surrounds, with a central blocked window and a blocked fire window on the right. The stable has a 20th-century door in a stone surround, and there are further doors to the right under a loft doorway, both framed in alternate-block surrounds. The rear features 19th-century outshuts, and the rear of the left extension has a plank door beneath a loft doorway.
