Description

No. 1 Scattergate, formerly the Ship Inn, is an 18th-century building located in Appleby in Westmorland. It is constructed of stone rubble that has been colour-washed, and it features a roof made of graded slates. The building is two storeys high and has a wide front. The entrance consists of a central panelled door flanked by two sash windows on each floor, all framed with plain architraves. At the rear, on the north end, there is a wing that includes a boarded door and a sash window on each floor.
