Description
The outer wall surrounding the grounds of Appleby Castle, extending from the North Lodge to the South Lodge, is primarily from the 18th and 19th centuries, although it incorporates some older sections and has undergone significant modern repairs and rebuilding. The wall is constructed of sandstone rubble and stands between six and eight feet high, creating a continuous boundary around the castle grounds.
