Description
North Lodge to Appleby Castle is a mid-19th or late 19th-century building, constructed around the time of the nearby gateway. It is built of red sandstone and features a cornice and battlements. The lodge is two storeys high, with a cornice acting as a string course between the floors. It has cross windows, some with four lights and others with six, all incorporating moulded stone mullions and transoms. A stepped gable is visible at the rear. Adjoining the entrance gates, it includes a modern addition in the angle.
