Description
12 and 14 Princes Street are a mirrored pair of semi-detached houses built in the mid-19th century, possibly by Websters of Kendal. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and topped with a slate roof. The buildings rise two storeys plus an attic, with each house featuring two bays. The facade includes a rock-faced plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a bracketed gutter. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with the outer bays slightly projecting and featuring single-storey timber canted bay windows. The first-floor windows are adorned with architraves. The doorways are paired in the central bays, each with a four-panel door set within a Doric pilaster doorcase. Each house also has a gabled attic dormer and gable chimneys.
