Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century dovecote, originally part of a tannery complex. It was built to fill a gap between two single-story workshops. The dovecote is constructed of snecked rubble with quoins, incorporating knapped river boulders in a checkerboard pattern. It has a hipped roof covered with graduated slate tiles, featuring open gablets and a wrought-iron weather vane at the ridge. The dovecote has two stories, with openings for birds located below the eaves. A loft access door, situated at the rear, has a shouldered lintel. Single-story tannery workshops, which have been extensively altered, are attached to the dovecote but are not included in the listing.
