Description

Nos. 23 and 25 Boroughgate is a late 18th-century building constructed from red sandstone ashlar. It features long and short quoins and stands three storeys tall. The Victorian shop front includes iron colonnets with foliated caps, an embattled cornice above the door, panelled pilasters, a fascia, and a dentilled cornice. To the left, there is a lower semi-basement window. At the rear, a rusticated segmental-headed archway has a re-used stone above it, inscribed with the date RBD --96. The upper storeys each have four windows.
