This milepost, located 80 meters south of the entrance to Green Close, dates from 1826 and is made of cast iron. It has a half-hexagonal shape with fluted faces and a domed top, and is painted in black and white. The north side is marked with "BURTON 3 MILES" and the south side with "KENDAL 8 MILES."
